About

I was born in Manchester in the 1960s and trained as an architect. My architectural practice serves the West Midlands. www.heeleysarchitects.co.uk

I first learned to play the organ from the age of 8 and progressed to the flute at 10 and the piano at 14. I have been very fortunate to have had the opportunity to study under several very accomplished and inspirational teachers. More recently I've studied classical singing and have taken part in the Association of Teachers of Singing summer school for teachers as a model pupil.

Public "appearances" include an interview and piano performance for BBC Radio Shropshire, and local performances on flute, piccolo, and classical singing.

I've taken exams with the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, Trinity College, and the London College of Music, in flute, piccolo, piano, jazz piano, singing, classical guitar, theory, and composition, and have gained grade eight with Merit in Theory
of Music, and Flute performance.

Professional Development

I'm currently working towards an ATCL Performance Diploma in flute, with Trinity College.

I've recently completed a teaching course with the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music.

I'm a member of EPTA - the European Piano Teacher's Association which provides professional development support and performance opportunities for both teachers and pupils.
